Peer Review Policy

Revista de Derecho follows a rigorous peer-review process to maintain the academic quality, originality, and integrity of the work it publishes. All submitted manuscripts are first examined by the editorial team to determine whether they fall within the scope of the journal and meet the required standards of scholarly quality, originality, relevance, and presentation. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s basic requirements may be rejected at the editorial stage without external review.

Manuscripts considered suitable for review are evaluated by qualified and independent reviewers with appropriate expertise in the subject area. The journal generally follows a double-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential to the extent possible. Reviewers assess manuscripts on the basis of originality, academic significance, methodological or analytical soundness, quality of legal reasoning, accuracy of references and sources, clarity of presentation, and contribution to legal scholarship.

Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and confidential evaluations. They must disclose any potential conflict of interest and should not use or disclose information from unpublished manuscripts. Reviewers should not allow personal, institutional, or professional considerations to influence their recommendations.

Based on the reviewers’ reports and the editorial assessment, a manuscript may be accepted, accepted subject to revisions, returned for major revision and further review, or rejected. Where revisions are requested, authors should respond carefully to reviewers’ comments and submit a revised manuscript within the period specified by the editorial team. Revised manuscripts may be sent back to reviewers when necessary.

The final decision regarding publication rests with the Editor-in-Chief or the authorized editorial team. The journal may seek additional reviews where reviewer recommendations substantially differ or where further expert assessment is required. All editorial and peer-review decisions are made with the aim of ensuring fairness, academic integrity, and the quality of the journal’s published content.
