Plagiarism and AI Use Policy

Revista de Derecho is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity and does not tolerate plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabrication, falsification, or any other form of academic misconduct. All submitted manuscripts must be original works and must appropriately acknowledge the ideas, arguments, quotations, data, legislation, judicial decisions, and other materials derived from other sources. Manuscripts may be checked using appropriate plagiarism-detection tools and editorial assessment. Where substantial plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct are identified, the manuscript may be rejected and appropriate action may be taken in accordance with the journal’s ethical standards.

Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, and integrity of their manuscripts. Reuse of an author’s previously published material must be properly disclosed and referenced, and substantial duplication of previously published work is not acceptable. The journal may investigate allegations of plagiarism or other misconduct both before and after publication and may take corrective action, including withdrawal or retraction of published material where justified.

The journal permits the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted tools for limited purposes such as language correction, grammar improvement, translation, formatting, and assistance with research organization. However, authors must not rely on AI tools to generate unsupported academic arguments, fabricated references, legal authorities, case citations, quotations, data, or other material presented as verified scholarly work. Authors are responsible for carefully checking all AI-assisted content for accuracy, originality, reliability, and compliance with applicable legal and ethical standards.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors or credited as having authorship of a manuscript. Where AI has been used in a substantive manner in preparing or developing a manuscript, authors should provide an appropriate disclosure describing the nature and purpose of such use. The use of AI does not transfer responsibility for the manuscript to the technology or service provider; full responsibility remains with the authors.

Reviewers and editors must also maintain confidentiality and should not upload unpublished manuscripts or confidential editorial materials to publicly accessible AI systems or other third-party tools where doing so could compromise confidentiality, intellectual property, or the integrity of the peer-review process.
